What is the endocrine system?

The human endocrine system consists of a number of glands, which release hormones to control many functions.

When the hormones leave the glands, they enter the bloodstream and are transported to organs and tissues in every part of the body.

Hormones are chemical messengers that are secreted by the body  to have an effect on other parts of the body.

The Endocrine system is made up of the Adrenal glands, Hypothalamus, Ovaries and Testicles, Pancreas, Parathyroid glands, Pineal body, Pituitary gland, Thymus gland and the Thyroid gland,

Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease that occurs when the blood glucose is too high.  Your pancreas is responsible for creating the insulin hormone.  Over time your pancreas may not work optimally causing issues with your blood sugar.  At Prime Endocrinology, we will help you understand your particular Diabetic needs as well how to manage it.
